Davis Woods-Morse is an unlikely authority on love. As a lawyer, he’s helped clients get along while getting divorced. As an ordained minister, he’s pronounced near strangers to be husband and wife. What really qualifies him to write about relationships is an extraordinary life experience. Woods-Morse was married to a woman for over a decade, has been in serious long term relationships with both gay men and self-identified lesbians. A Jew, he’s been in committed relationships with a couple of Christians, a Buddhist, and someone who said only “I’m spiritual” whenever the topic came up. He has participated in five wedding ceremonies with the same person and is currently trying to create every one of the ten thousand-plus marriage rights without legally marrying his partner, Katherine. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
